Race Carbon Fiber C11 OTA for sale
Author Last Post

***SOLD!***

Dear fellow CTAS club members,

Soon I am going to put up on the national forums (CloudyNights, AstroMart, etc) a scope for sale. However, I thought I would first offer it for sale locally.

I have a beautiful carbon fiber C11 OTA

Here are the details:

*It is a C11 OTA and these are backordered everywhere given the massive supply chain issues and Celestron’s website says they have raised the price for new aluminum tubes to $3,200 and that’s without the accessories that I am throwing in.

*Mine is a carbon fiber tube and this is a very desirable optical tube - particularly for imagers.

*Fastar Compatible

*Aliexpress had two C11 Carbon fiber tubes up for sale for $2,920 - without all of my extras - and probably not in as great of condition as mine.

*This a gem of a scope! Some CTAS members have observed with with me through scope on the observing field at TRS and at Hubbard City Lakes public events.

*Celestron C11-CF 11.0"/279mm Carbon Fiber Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope Optical Tube Assembly (2800mm f/10.0)

*Carbon fiber tubes are highly sought after and I believe are no longer made. Carbon fiber has a few advantages over aluminum that will be appreciated in astronomy: their low specific heat capacity feels warmer to the touch in the cold, they take less time to be acclimated to their environment so you can begin observing earlier, and they absorb vibrations better than aluminum.

*Being light weight and Fastar compatible makes this a great imaging scope.

*HyperStar/FastStar compatible for imaging

*Lots of extra’s

Dovetail

Upgraded Starlight Instruments FeatherTouch Focuser (this is buttery smooth!!!)

PacificDesign carrying bag

Baader 2” Click Lock

2” Diagonal

*Knowing me, there’s probably things included that I am forgetting and other things that I will throw in as well.

I am listing this for sale here for $2,600 or offer. Once again, these rare scopes typically go very fast on the national classified boards.

I live in Mansfield. I could also meet up with you somewhere. Doing a private deal with someone locally is so much easier for me than putting stuff up on the national forums (Cloudy Nights / AstroMart). If I have to, this will go quickly because of the uniqueness of the carbon fiber tube and the great condition of this amazing scope.

I could include additional photos if you would like. This has always been stored in my basement (in Minnesota) or in my insulated and climate controlled (sort of) garage/warehouse here in Texas.

Please let me know if you are interested by calling me directly on my cell phone number below or on my email address below.
