Beautiful, well defined image, Aubrey!
The weather was very iffy at Meyer Observatory during the May 2018 Dark Cycle. But I was able to capture 5.0 hours of data on M101 over May 6-19 at the Brickhouse Observatory with my ES-127 Refractor, STT 8300 with Baader Filters mounted on my Losmandy G11T. M101 is a large face-on spiral galaxy located 22 million light-years away in the constellation of Ursa Major. At magnitude +7.9 it is very impressive but sometimes hard to image. In this fairly wide field shot, you might be able to see up to 40 or so other galaxies located much further out around 17 magnitude etc. The large star is a magnitude 8 star. North is to the right on this image. Aubrey
