We had four good nights for imaging. For observers only one night was a washout.

How about writing an article about the TSP and send it to me.

Jeff, excellent job on this difficult image. I was surprised that you made and TSP this year. I am glad and that it worked out for you. How many good nights did you get this year?

Here's another with a slighly different white balance that may be more accurate.

Oddly enough, the red-shifted image was the actual color that came out of the data. That may be an effect caused by the closeness to the southern horizon from where I was imaging or it may be a result of the red-shift caused by the distance to the galaxies. I had to add a lot of blue to the image to get the color in the second image, but it matches the professional images.

I like this version the best. Very good shot by any standard.

While certainly not up to Aubrey's standards, here is my rendition of the Antenna Galaxies. I captured the data for this image on the night of May 1 on Prude Ranch near Ft. Davis, TX. I used a Celestron 1100 Edge HD telescope with an SBIG 8300 monochrome CCD camera with the chip cooled to -20˚C. The image is composed of six, 300-second exposures each through Red, Green, and Blue filters and a series of six, 600-second exposures in white light (Luminance). The photography equipment was mounted on a Losmandy G11 German equatorial mount controlled by a Gemini II computer. The data was captured and initially processed using the Nebulosity 4 app and finished in Star Tools and Adobe Lightroom 5.7.
