M51 Whirlpool Galaxy is one of the favorites of Astro-photographers in March of each year. It is located in Canes Venctici near the Big Dipper. It is connected to NGC 5195 by the long tail. It is a Seyfert 2 Galaxy with a Quazar like nucleus. It is located about 23 Million Light Years from Earth. So the light we imaged on March 31, 2019 had been traveling towards us for the last 23 million years. This was imaged from Brickhouse Remote Observatory. It is a total of 3.0 hours of exposure on a 10" RC telescope.
Enjoy.

Steve, how is you imaging and processing coming along. We have had very little good weather this year. Have not seen you out on the field in a while.

Thanks all for the comments. I enjoyed doing this one. I have done it on the Meyer's telescope a long time ago and if we ever get it going again, I will shoot some more data so that club members can learn to process it.

Very nice detail right down to it’s core, which is often over exposed.
Good job!
